BA: Hi Barry, Im sure you've been welcomed into the clubhouse with open arms, what are your first impressions of the club and its past, present and future?
BB:Thanks for the warm welcome, Im really glad to have joined this great great team which has had very good moments and real highs as well as lows....my aim?, to bring back the good times and give something back to the fans who have been with this club from the beginning. In regards to the future, we will worry about it when we get there but its always something thats on every managers mind whatever they say.
BA:What with the off season being quite slow this time around, what have you been doing to occupy yourself?
BB:I have been busy doing research on players which we as a club and organisation will aim to draft in February, it is of paramount importance that we are prepared whatever scenario presents itself on draft day so that we are aware of what player to draft in each round without real hesitation.
BA:What will be your strategy going into the draft next year?
BB:I believe nothing is guaranteed in this draft, any player can go absolutely anywhere so to have a strategy and attempt to stick with it will be extremely difficult in my opinion.
BA:What are your goals with this team....win now or draft for the future?
BB:Im a huge believer in teams winning through good teamwork and knowledge of each others roles as well as having a mix of youth with veteran presence. Us as a team will focus on getting the balance right in not overflowing the team with raw talent but adding key experience to bolster the roster in a positive manner. Im all for giving rookies a chance but to achieve that they need to earn it and most importantly learn from the best players and players who have been there and done it.
