Barry's Outlook (MIL)
The Cubs started the draft by selecting K.Schwarber who is set to start at the top of the lineup as the lead off hitter, coming back from his injury its hard to predict what line he is going to produce from the off but look for him to stick around for the Cubs as their key man for now and the future. C.Archer was drafted in the second round as their ace being familiar to that role he should fit in well and produce decent numbers and numerous wins....the rotation has been filled a little more with additions of Z.Davies and Folty who are up and coming pitchers ready for their breakthrough and will aim to emulate the production that Archer will provide. The Cubs lineup includes J.Panik a solid 2B hoping for a better season then his last and still at a tender age of 26 he has some years ahead of him. H.Renfroe the baseball smashing monster will most likely start in the majors after his cup of coffee late last season proved to be quite the success where he went for 36 AB, hitting .389 avg and 4 bombs. Last years fantasy MVP J.Villar will start at 3B for the club looking to replicate what he did this past season and with N.Senzel as their minor leaguer at 3B, lets say that position is sawn up for quite some time.
Prediction place- 2nd (90-72)
Tony's Outlook (DET)
Lineup
The Cubs have put together a lineup that has some serious power potential with Schwarber and Bird. Both are coming off knee injuries last season, but both have power to spare. Villar and Panik form a steady middle infield. The other players in Chicago’s lineup carry a lot of upside, but may have little to no impact this season.
Rotation
Chris Archer is the undisputed ace here, and may need to carry the load for a little bit. Davies and Folty, while looking good in their debuts last season, need to prove they are for real.
Overall
The Cubs look to be keeping an eye on upside and are looking to build for the future. They may struggle to keep up this year, but could add some players to help later in the draft. Even with a slow start, these guys look to be contenders in the next season or 2.
Milwaukee Brewers
Barry's Outlook (MIL)
The Brewers began with the selection of D.Dahl from the off, cementing that outfield spot as his own for the long haul, with it being a hitter friendly park the fans will want to see similar kind of production to what he produced last season. Their rotation is looking like this with M.Stroman being their ace who will want to put a mediocre season behind him and start the year off well in the WBC ready for the season to begin properly in April. J.Hoffman and C.Kuhl are hoping to get their big inning milage up this upcoming year and be fullt involved in the Brewers rotation, we will wait to see how they perform in spring training and see what the GM does from there on in.Their lineup composes of E.Thames who had a worldly 3 yrs out there in the far east, he'll be anticipating some kind of production being back in the MLB although no one is quite sure what that will be including himself I would imagine...a team friendly contract will always sooth those worries though . M.Sano will start in the outfield along with D.Vogelbach who is stated as starting at 1B till E.Thames gets his eligibility then will most likely move to the DH role, he had a poor stint last season but big things are being said about his bat...as well as his stomach. K.Herrera the fire thrower will aim to close this season for the Brewers
Prediction place- 5th (71-91)
Tony's Outlook (DET)
Lineup
The Brewers lineup is mostly built on upside and projection. Miguel Sano anchors the lineup as the only player that had a lot of MLB at bats. Dahl looks to be a solid hitter, but needs to find room in a crowded OF. Thames is coming off a phenomenal season in Korea.
Rotation
Marcus Stroman is the ace here, and also the only member of the staff with a history to go off. Kuhl, Hoffman, and Mendez all look to make their respective staffs out of Spring Training. Herrera is a nice start to the bullpen.
Overall
Milwaukee will be looking for a lot of breakouts at this point. They have a nice collection of young talent, but may need a season or 2 for it to show in the standings. This team will need to address some immediate needs to compete this season.

Barry's Outlook (MIL)
M.Betts was the Pirates first pick of the draft and a solid one it was, the allrounder will be the face of this franchise for many a year and will produce MVP performances more than once Im sure. Their rotation has a few dark horses including K.Hendricks who some may be a bit wary of a decline after his amazing 2.13 ERA season last year, Smyly another 50/50 pitcher can be really good one start and the next can be as bad as J.Weaver. B.Snell might be their hidden ace though as he recorded 89 innings last year with very respectable numbers for a rookie, Ill aim high and say he gets that ERA of 3.54 to stretch over 160 innings this year. Their hitters consist of Naquin, Miller and Rendon with Bellinger possibly getting the call up in June/July depending upon A.Gon's health and circumstances. Thats is a solid lineup with a mix of SB, Avg and power which will aid in the bid for the division title. A.Triggs is a good little pick up to since he may start in the pirates rotation come opening day
Prediction place- 3rd (85-77)
Tony's Outlook (DET)
Lineup
The Pirates have put together a nice mix of youth and experience. Mookie Betts and Anthony Rendon are the key pieces on offense. Brad Miller adds some versatility, and Bellinger and Robles are highly touted prospects.
Rotation
Hendricks and Smyly provide steady production at the top of the rotation. Snell looks to breakout after making his debut last season. Allen provides a solid closer. The jury is out as to if Triggs is a starter or reliever.
Overall
The Pirates have a few immediate needs, but are building a formidable roster. The lineup may struggle a bit to keep up, as their are holes to be filled, and pieces need to be added to the rotation. As of now, expect Pittsburgh to hover around the middle of the division.
Cincinnati Reds
Barry's Outlook (MIL)
The Reds selected M.Scherzer the ace of any rotation and a solid a pitcher as you could have wished for at that spot, with J.Ross as second in command M.Schezer will have to mentor this youngster to grow up to be like him and that will be a very hard task to follow and accomplish, while I think there is a gulf between the 2 pitchers...J.Ross is certainly a name to remember and could prove to be a bargain at rd 8. The Reds outfield is looking like its done and dusted now with Cutch at the forefront and hoping for a bounce back season the supporting cast include D.Span and C.Dickerson manning the corners. J.Peraza will start at UTL with D.Gordon at 2B to add speed to the already quick lineup with J.Ramirez adding the necessary batting avg and power. J.Winker should also be making his MLB debut this season which im most intrigued by as guys itk are 50/50 about what his production will look like in the majors.
Prediction Place 1st (92-70)
Tony's Outlook (DET)
Lineup
The Reds have built a lineup of solid veteran hitters. McCutchen and Gordon look to anchor the lineup, with Crawford, Ramirez, Span, and Dickerson supply support. Jose Pereza offers a lot of speed and upside. Jesse Winker looks to make his debut this season.
Rotation
Some far the Reds only have Scherzer and Joe Rose. Scherzer is a bona fide ace capable of a no hitter any time out. Rose pitched well early in his debut, but injury took its toll late. More needs to be added, but Scherzer is a nice start to any staff.
Overall
The Reds’ lineup seems to be enough to keep them in most games. With some pitchers that can contribute, this team should be in the mix immediately. Winker, Pereza, and Ross seem to be the main building block for the future so far.

Barry's Outlook (MIL)
The Cardinals went for B.Harper as their 1st rd pick and will be hoping that he finds his form of 2015 back and continues to rake in those RBI's and HR's for a good amount of years yet. Y.Puig will be accompanying Bryce in the outfield and he himself will want to prove to the GM and fans what he has in the tank and not the 11HR's and the .263 avg that he produced last year. The Cards went with J.Kipnis as a solid option in 2B and at 1B decided to go with E5 who will no doubt hit another 30+ home runs as well as bring in 100+ rbi's which Im sure will go down well with everyone at the club. As for the rotation well it starts off with C.Martinez a clear ace in this organisation who has red cardinals blood flowing through his veins ever since he was born and im sure be aiming for an extension to his contract to stay with his boyhood club a little longer and be the face of the franchise. G.Richards is a solid arm but what with his injuries it'll we be intruiging to see if the team starts him out in the bullpen or do they go full out and start him as a starter from the off...T.Roark is hoping for more of the same as Im sure is his GM who drafted him and with R.Ray being a strikeout king and a ERA increasing specialist I cant wait to see how this works out for the Cardinals
Prediction Place 4th (84-78)
Tony's Outlook (DET)
Lineup
This is a tough lineup. Encarnacion, Harper, Kipnis, Puig, and Asdrubal Cabrera should provide lots of offense. Polanco offers a lot of upside and versatility. Gurriel is a highly touted prospect outta Cuba. This is a scary offense in the making.
Rotation
Martinez has the best track record among the staff. Robbie Ray enjoyed a breakout last season and looks to prove it. Roark quietly puts up solid numbers. Richards looks to stay healthy.
Overall
This team is built to win now. The staff has a few questions, but the offense more than makes up for it. The Cards will be near the top all season
