Good Evening fellow fantasy enthusiasts. I will be ranking every team in each division and where I believe they will finish at the end of the year. If you don't like or agree with my rankings, please feel free to not reach out to me, or send harassment letters. I" really don't care that much to be honest. I'm Buster Olney and I don't have time for you to tell me why you think "Trea Turner is a future first ballot Hall of Famer." So without me wasting more of my own time, I'll be starting with the NL Central one team at a time.
Coming in at dead last (5th) in the Central is The St. Louis Cardinals.
No sugar coding this one fellas, this team is a wreck. I'd rather lick my own underwear after a long sweaty day at work, and after knowing I might not have wiped good enough while in the stall at the office than take over this team for a dynasty league such as this. I mean, don't get me wrong... Harper, Kipnis, and Encarnación are some very productive pieces to build around. By the way, I'm predicting Harper to have a bounce back year and be in the running for MVP deep into the season. But the depth of this team is scary bad, the Cardinals don't even have a third outfielder in the lineup, and on top of that, the bench is almost non existent. now, don't get me wrong, the pitching staff isn't nearly as bad as the lineup. With guys like Martinez, Ray, Richards, Leake and Roark the Cardinals should have a decent pitcher rolling almost every night. The problem that I have with this team is the firepower. The bench has 2 players, Cuthbert and Peralta, and a right fielder who's team as of last season doesn't want him even playing in their city. (Puig). At this rate, if the GM doesn't make any moves before the season, the lineup in Busch Stadium isn't going to be scoring many runs this year. The best move the Cards GM can make is to send a pitcher or two packing, for a few more above average bats, and lineup depth.
Stay tuned for tomorrows number 4th team in the Central. Or don't, I don't give a shit to be honest... Why am i doing this?
