Y.Escobar looks set to miss out on a opening day lineup spot in exchange for Y.Diaz who will make his major league debut for the Brewers. The GM Barry Baker confirmed these reports this morning....."It was a tough decision and one which wasnt resolved over a single day, we all want to start off the season on the right foot and whilst Y.Escobar is a key piece in our plans as you've seen with the contract extension, we feel as though Y.Diaz has been the best bat in spring training for us and has worked his socks off to grab a roster spot". Baker reassured the reporters that Y.Escobar will be back in the lineup sooner rather than later. "Yunel will be back with us and competing this week for sure, he is a solid player and is part of our future long term". Y.Escobar only hit for .200 avg in spring which is way below his usual standard of hitting for consistent batting avg over .300 mark, he will look to show the fans and manager what he is still capable of later this week.
