The Chicago Cubs were looking to come out with a good start this season and have succeeded winning the opening series against the Cincinnati Reds 2-1. On opening day the Cubs wasted an impressive outing by Chris Archer who went for 21.5 points posting a very impressive line. Archer went 7 innings gave up 7 hits 5/1 K/BB and 2 Earned Runs. Archer got the win behind this strong Quality start on opening day. Cubs hitters were a different story as the bats thought they were still on vacation. They amasses a 1.3 point total between all of them. Cincinnati took advantage behind an amazing Start by Dallas Keuchal and strong performances by Yasmani Grandal (12pts), Jose Ramirez (8pts) and Steve Pearce (4.2 pts) In the second game of the series the Cubs bats came alive to beat the Reds 21.6-14.9. Strong performances by Villar and Choo help overcome Corey Dickerson's 7 pt day. In the rubber game on the series the Cubs handed the ball to Kyle Gibson. Gibson started off strong then faded in the 4th and 5th innings. Gibson finished with only 5 points. Then the Cubs Outfield came to play led by 1st round Pick Kyle Schwarber's 3 run homer. Then Cubs Outfield totaled 17 points on way to lead the Cubs to victory and the series win. With the 21.8-18.1 win the Cubs are now in a 1st place tie with Milwaukee Brewers and @patrick. It just happens that over the next 3 days the Cubs will play the Brewers and Cardinals. Probable Starting Pitchers for the Cubs for the weekend series are: Friday: Mike Foltynewicz Saturday: Chris Archer Sunday: Zach Davies
