Between bad managerial decisions and poor play the Cubs had a pisspoor performance against Milwaukee Brewers and @patrick. Friday the Cubs manager decided to start Mike Foltynewicz over Rookie Kyle Freeland and it cost the team 2 matchups. When asked why he decided to go with Folty he just shrugged and stated he did not trust the rookie yet.
Saturday the Cubs we able to win back the 2 matchups with a stellar performance once again from Chris Archer. This was his 2nd quality start for the season. The Cubs Manager stated that this is why we took him where we did. Guy just goes out there and does his job. No complaints just takes the ball and let's it fly.
Before start of play Sunday Morning the Cubs made a trade with Justin. Cubs sent Outfielder Cameron Maybin to Oakland in return for Charlie Morton. General Manager Brandon Inwood commented on the trade shortly after finishing it up. "We really liked what Cameron brought to the table but the injury bug has gotten to our pitching staff. We admit to taking a gamble on Charlie but his potential is there to be a 2 or 3 starter for us."
The players must have missed Maybin's leadership as they went through the motions on the field. Zach Davies was hit early and often and took the loss. He only managed 3 points in the matchup. Kyle Schwarber and Daniel Descalso were the only hitters of note getting 7 and 3 points respectively. The Cubs Manager stated "if these guys can't figure out how to hit the ball some changes may have to be made. Noone is safe and garunteed a job here."
In hoping to turn around a bad weekend the Cubs are preparing for their upcoming series against the last place @pittsburghpirates.
Chicago Cubs Probable Starting Pitching:
Monday: Charlie Morton
Tuesday: None
Wednesday: Kyle Freeland
