*If players had multiple eligibility, position was based off of most starts during the season for INF/OF. DH players were included in C numbers. If a SP finished the season with 12+ starts they were counted as a SP, if 11 or less w/ RP appearances, they were considered a RP.

ATL Accepts SP Rays demands.
ATL wants to pump the brakes on Ozuna's 180% salary raise. Did he have a good season yes. However has he reached these numbers before? No. This is the first time Ozuna has hit over 25HR 80RBI or even batted over .280. If he put up these numbers at age 24 then again 26 we would understand the raise. People have great seasons...and people fall back down to earth. So anyone who has a great season gets a 180% pay increase? We offer a respectable 90% pay increase to $6.65 Mil.

Accept Vasquez C BOS
Decline Nick Ahmed SS ARI. He is a guy who shares the position with someone else, so he doesn't even start. Another reason why I am declining is cause he was only healthy for April, May and half of June, he didn't even play for the 2nd half of the year. Think the 1.04M is the right amount for him.
Decline Yasmani Grandal C LAD. Grandal was alright for LAD last season, but I dont think he's worth a $3.30 million increase to go all the way up to $8+ million a year. The only thing that was great for him is he had his most healthy season playing in 129 G and 438 AB. But his HRs, RBIs, .OBP, .SLG and .OPS all declined from 2016 to 2017. Hopefully he will improve those stats but it will be difficult with Austin Barnes and Kyle Farmer eating up some time as well. I think 6.50M is a better amount than 8.80M.

I accept Cingrani and Otero Arb Requested increase but the increase for DeGrom first year of ABR is way to much ... His ERA of 3.53 was the worse of his 4 seasons to date he is a SO pitcher indeed but he has to show more than being a SO pitcher He needs to become a sub 3 ERA and win 20 games to get past the Requested salary in his first year of ARB. I will look to increase his Salary to $4.05 million not the requested $8.10 Million I think is definitely a bit to much. His Salary IRL with the Mets will be $ 7 Million. So increasing to 8.10 is a huge increase.

Brad Miller – Accept Mookie Betts – Accept Drew Smyly – Accept AJ Griffin – Accept
Scooter Gennet – Reject Scooter gained cult status by massively out performing his previous seasons. He only finished 27th in 2016 and is projected for 22th in 2018. His succes was fueled by a top 25 (for all players) in BABIP causing a 32 pt AVG jump and a 119 pt SLG jump. The Pittsburgh Pirates would like to reward Mr Gennet for his improved play but at a lower tiered increase. He finished 14th based on this outlier season. The Pirates would like to offer him an increase aligned to a top 25 2B instead of a top-15 second baseman. Our offer is an 80% increase of 2.02m for a salary 4.55m.
Anthony Rendon – Reject Rendon was No 10th in 2016 and projects for 8th in 2018. Mr Rendon has a history of heath issues dating all the way back to college. His seemingly elite season last year numbers-wise would be expected out of a perennial All Star. Mr Rendon had never been an All Star entering the season and his true market value was on full display when he didn’t make the All Star team this past season either. If he can even come close to top 5 numbers in either of the next two seasons; he is primed to be the highest paid 3B in the league either by the time he enters free agency. The Pittsburgh Pirates organization would like to reward him for his excellent season, all done while my team was way out of contention, with an increase in line with that of a top 15 player not a top 5 player. The kind of salary increase being requested after this outlier season an after only his ARB2 season would prematurely reward him with a salary that should be earned by repeating that kind of performance again. The goal of the organization, if he were to have another strong and healthy season, is to make Mr Rendon a face of the franchise but this type of salary increase while only in an ARB2 yeart makes his long term future as a Pirate extremely difficult to picture. IRL - Anthony Rendon and the Nats just settled at 12.3M.
The Pirates offer a a 120% increase of 6.96M for a very fair market value salary of 12.76m.
Cody Allen –Reject The proposed increase would make Mr Allen the highest paid relief pitcher in the league next season*. His current salary before any arbitration increase already would place him in the top ten earners for all relief pitchers. His numbers were roughly flat year over year and do not merit a 120% raise on his already fair salary. The Pirates offer would bring his compensation into the top 5 RP in the game even though he was merely #17 last season. IRL - Cody Allen and the Indians just settled at 10.5M.
The Pittsburgh Pirates offer is a 50% increase of 3.67m for a salary of 11.02m.
*Note: This assumes a multi-year offer happens over the Wade Davis QO.

Accept: Austin Romine Matt Shoemaker Nick Vincent Tommy Kahlne
Carter Capps—Reject: Capps missed the entire 2016 season campaign due to TJ. He was scheduled to be ready to participate in Spring Training for 2017, but suffered numerous set backs. He didn’t make his season debut until August 4th where he saw very mixed reviews. He was shutdown on September 8th and placed on the 60 day DL with blood clots. I am requesting to have his salary be $0.99m next year.
Justin Wilson—Reject: Was only benifitted from a terrible team(Tigers) where he was their closer until he was traded to the Cubs. With him not be in the fold of being the closer next year for the Cubs I am rejecting his proposed 5.4m salary and will offer him 4.05m
