Houston Astros vs. Ken GilesAfter considering both sides, the arbitration committee has decided to side with Ken Giles, on a vote of 3-0 (OAK did not factor into decision based on division placement). He remains the closer on one of the best teams in baseball, continues to have a high K/9 ratio, and lowered his ERA, WHIP, and BAA in 2017. 3.43m is a bargain for a premium RP. Ken Giles has hereby been awarded a 2018 salary of 3.43m.

@chad vs. Marcell Ozuna
After considering both sides, the arbitration committee has decided to side with Marcell Ozuna, on a vote of 3-0 (4th member did not receive a vote due to division placement). With the young age of 26 years old, and monstrous increase in numbers, Ozuna is hitting his stride at the right time financially. When compared to other players, Ozuna is a bargain at 9.80m. The Braves argument was strong, and made the committee dig deep into reasoning. Also, the committee took into account what could be a possible ARB3 salary with this salary increase. When compared to other players at his position Marcell is averaging 50 fantasy points per million dollar paid (with his increase) compared to Mike Trout and Giancarlo Stantons roughly 23 points per million. Marcell Ozuna is hereby awarded a 2018 salary of 9.80m.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Yasmani Grandal After consider both sides, the arbitration committee has decided to side with Yasmani Grandal, on a vote of 3-0 (4th member did not receive vote due to division placement). The arbitration committee's major argument was the offer made my Cincinnati. Had Cincinnati offered at least a respectable pay increase (7.25m or so) we could have justified the team's side. With the 20% increase offered by Cincinnati, the team is essentially saying Grandal is a bottom 5 starting catcher in baseball. This is severely untrue based on playing time alone. Yasmani Grandal is hereby awarded a 2018 salary of 8.80m.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Nick Ahmed After considering both sides, the arbitration committee has decided to side with the Reds Organization, on a vote of 3-0. Nick, at this point, as been a career backup/Utility player. Even though his BA increased, he played in too few games, and thus needs to be paid accordingly with his back up duties. Nick Ahmed is hereby awarded a 2018 salary of 1.04m.
