AND BREATHE......What I believed was going to be a somewhat quiet last couple of days in the trading season turned out to be anything but the quiet, in fact there was a total of 15 trades yes you read that right 15 trades on the 26th/27th of July combined. Im going to now analyse some of the madness that occurred throughout those 48 hrs and give you my thoughts on the trades not that my opinion matters at all, more of just as a fun exercise on this rainy day in the Greatest of Britain's.

Matt Moore,SP/RP
Lucas Giolito,SP
Mike Shawaryn,SP
Chris Rodriguez,SP
Justin TRADED
Jon Lester,SP - (OAK covering 11.25mil in 2018)
With the Athletics now eliminated out of the playoff race, it was time to sell and sell Justin did, Moore waived before even reaching the club welcome mat (see what i did there), its time to focus on Lucas Giolito who has struggled with command this year nothing new there but he is still young with the tools to figure things out and become a 3/4 pitcher in any rotation given his talent, Shawaryn got traded later that day (spoiler alert) I will mention him then, Chris Rodriguez is one of the numerous Angels arms in the low minors that throws heat and will hope to work on his command just like any other prospect with noticeable potential. Giants get Lester who has been solid in his 34th year on this planet, they will be able to treasure his solidness until 2022 if they so choose to.

Miguel Sano,3B
Gabriel Arias,SS
Rylan Bannon,3B
Max Fried,SP
@luis TRADED
Kris Bryant,3B
this was the first real blockbuster trade...yet no one got busted imo.......Sano gets traded to Brewers (again spoiler alert) later on but we will just skip over that for now....the return for the formidable Kris is somewhat underwhelming at first glance and it may well be if you were to glance at it 50 times, point is Padres decided to sell even though their record this year suggested otherwise perhaps not feeling up to the challenge set by teams like Philadelphia Phillies and co in pursuit of the WS. Gabriel Arias is my boy so I have to be biased when saying he could be a 20/20 player with elite defense that will get him to the bigs, Bannon has shown serious pop this year and with him moving to Orioles IRL gives him the opportunity to fight for a roster spot possibly as early as mid season next year, Fried is an elite arm to add to Ohtani and Newcomb and well Sano is Sano am i right or am i right?
Milwaukee Brewers TRADED
Yanio Perez,3B
Gilbert Lara,3B
@luis TRADED
Jose Alvarado,RP
A small trade to most,and they would be right if looking at the above deal...Big trade for my organisation in the direction my mindset would alter for the next hours leading up to the deadline closing shut though..When Luis made his whole team available, my instincts took me to his roster page on fantrax to find one player (at first) staring me right in the face telling me to free him from the darkness of the San Diego pit, I phoned him whilst still looking at his fantrax profile pic and told him I would take him to the promised land if I had to trade my soul. I immediately put the phone down and messaged Luis with an offer I thought would benefit both teams...I never got a quicker response saying 'deal' in my life which pleased me. Jose Alvarado boasts a 2.51 ERA with around 20 holds for the season and 4 saves, he's only 23 and with the selling mess that is the Rays IRL he may well be in line to become a closer or get traded WHO KNOWS, what i do know is I got a major leaguer for next year which I wanted badly, giving up Yanio and Gilbert after following their progress this season is not fun though.
Cincinnati Reds TRADED
Aroldis Chapman,RP (with 9m coverage in 2018)
Justin TRADED
Matt Strahm,RP
Jared Miller,RP
Mike Shawaryn,SP
The race for 1.1 2019 rookie pick lasted all of maybe 10 games, no sweat though as the Reds are guaranteed the 1.2 pick next year and will no doubt draft a a blind, amputee Reds guy...just cos. Chapman has been on the block since the start of the year yet it came down to the day before the deadline to move him over to Athletics for a selection of RP's finest. Matt Strahm has been really solid this year in the Padres real life bullpen, Miller was meant to be Strahm but that hasnt yet, hes only 23 there is time and Shawaryn makes his 2nd appearance on the article, the 10th ranked Red Sox prospect irl, 3.29 ERA in 103 IP with 95 K's is fair in Double AA as a 23 yr old, look for him to make a spot appearance in September.
Justin TRADED
Elvis Andrus,SS
Denard Span,OF
@stlouiscards
Taylor Clarke,SP
Brandon Marsh,OF
Tim Beckham,SS
Athletics went on a rampage as you can clearly see here, this time moving Andrus and Span for lets be honest the main piece that is Marsh who has moved up a level IRL and had shown the skills that he is renowned for. Cardinals are pushing for the the wildcard spot and are going the right way about it imo. good trade for both sides
@luis TRADED
Nathan Eovaldi,SP eats(0.1) of his contract
@sfgiants24 TRADED
Austin Jackson,OF
Cole Duensing,SP
Ernie Clement,SS
No you are not going mad, Athletics is not involved in this deal you read correctly, the seller and buyer market was well and truly hot at this point, Giants got in on some of the action by acquiring Eovaldi who was a nobody at the start of the year before sticking the middle finger up to all the doubters (me) and pitching like a god, now traded to Red Sox IRL, dont be surprised he wins them the ring and Giants for this matter. I like the Clement and Duensing return for Padres as they try to emulate the Brewers strategy
Justin TRADED
Franklin Barreto,SS
Milwaukee Brewers TRADED
Adam Haseley,OF
Richard Urena,SS
Wasnt long before Justin made another deal this time with me for what seems like the first time in this league (maybe). Barreto should/WILL!!!!! be on the major league roster next year and at only 21/22 he has plenty of upside as well as risk an appealing mix for my team. Haseley has been mashing baseballs all year and I may come to regret this trade sooner rather than later.
Toronto Blue Jays TRADED
Bo Bichette,SS
1st rd 2018 pick
Touki Touissant,SP
@dannymq TRADED
Vlad Jr,3B
Eric Pardinho,SP
The word BLOCKBUSTER was created for this type of deal....earth shattering!!!!! When Danny the GM of Colorado made Vlad Jr available on GroupMe after acquiring Suarez earlier on in the week, the time seemed to have stopped for a brief second...then came the barrage of owners in the league and strangers from the street sliding into his DM'S demanding Vlad Jr rumours even stating some were willing to part with loved ones and/or the limbs to have the opportunity to say 'I own Vlad Jr' if even for a second. Talks went long into the night, Brewers and Blue Jays were the last ones standing with all limbs fully attached and with loved ones by there side...but not for long....Due to time zone differences I was off to sleep and with Danny leaving me encrypted messages I was sweating like a pig at the butchers not knowing what I was going to wake up to....morning came and Vlad Jr was a Blue Jay...the end
@tborg128 TRADED
Joc Pederson,OF
Toronto Blue Jays TRADED
Chance Adams,SP
Back to reality were Tigers and Blue Jays agreed on the most sensible looking deal ever, with a a somewhat young serviceable Joc going to Canada with Chance hopefully finally getting a chance (see what i did there? Im good i know) in the Tigers org to prove himself as a starter.

Jean Carlos Encarnacion,3B
Tampa Bay Rays TRADED
Franchy Cordero,OF
If you took a normal person of the street and told them these are actual human beings walking this earth they would have slapped you across the face, called you all the obscenities under the sun, and spat on you for even approaching them......meanwhile in the chat room Franchy caused a great stir among the immortals on wheter he is a stud or not, now Im not to comment as it would be biased but I believe he has all the makings of becoming a stud hence why I made the trade....I gave us a gas can named Graterol and a drug lord named Encarnacion so Im happy....in all seriousness though I hate giving these prospects up especially Graterol who is always rising up all rankings you take a look at.. Good trade Chris
@slippingsprite TRADED
Khris Davis,OF
Miguelangel Sierra,SS
Justin TRADED
Austin Hays,OF
Mike King,SP
Krush Davis has left the premises of Arizona and moving to Oakland where he will no doubt keep hitting bomb after bomb after bomb after...you get the picture. The return seems very fair here as Hays has shown similar power in the minors which could and will translate to the juiced ball era in the majors. He'll have a spot for him in the Orioles lineup next year for sure that is unless he bats 0.010 even then i still think they would start him. Miguelangel Sierra also was moved to Oakland, now if someone came up to me and told me that he is a real human being I would without doubt smack them in the face no questions asked.

Soroka, Mike,SP

Zimmer, Bradley,OF
Lutz, Tristen,OF
Trust Chad to come in last minute and cause more havoc into proceedings with a bombshell of this magnitude. Ben made Bryant available for a top top prospects or a selection of high end prospects and this is exactly what he got here....Soroka the top pitching prospect in the game to some will offer big help to a very young rotation that will now lineup something like Sorokoa/Buehler/Poncedelon/Skoglund/Kuhl and...Jeff. Zimmer i feel can regain his spot next year and with Lutz heating up all the time, its a solid deal for a rebuilding Dbacks...Braves are going for this hell for leather and good on them, someone has to stop Phillies. It is reported the Dbacks sent an offer to Braves late in the evening of the deadline day and their phone battery died right after, he didnt know the response until one hour from the deadline shutting, OH THE DRAMA!!

I will regret this trade in years to come but will enjoy the production Soler and Sano give me until then.
That is is guys for another year...thanks a lot for those who participated in the deadline day and to all who are enjoying this great league and making it fun to be a part of, LETS DO THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
