I'm flipped from Boston. I like the flexibility of adding a player during the postseason, even if it's not what happens irl. If you're a part of the league, be active, look for milb players, and international prospects. An increase to 75 isn't drastic.

Guys this is just 2 of my rule change proposals you don’t have to agree/disagree just yet—that will be put up as polls in december, what you have to do is post your OWN rule change proposals

Just got back from vacation.
Get rid of the rule that prevents IFA $ and draft picks from being traded for MLB players.

Rule proposals: All draft picks should be allowed to be traded for anything. QO's limit from 1 to 2.

Get rid of the rule letting bottom 3 teams to get compensatory pick. It doesn't make sense and encourages tanking.

If a player gets a contract extension mid season and the team decides to decline it, do you we;
A) allow the team to keep the player for the remainder of the season and then release him into the FA pool
B) release the player into the FA pool upon decision during the season

IFA CASH
Once a player is won- the cash amount is added to the MILB salary cap as per the rules
the new rule would scrap this so that the IFA cash would be seperate and thus not added to the MILB salary upon winning a player

26 man rosters are being implemented in real life this season—so this is a simple one
A) Expand to 26 from 25 B) Stay At 25 man rosters

Loss of 1st rd pick if MLB roster does not have a MINIMUM of 15 Major league players by opening day
Loss of 2mil of IFA if owner is not shown to be trying to get roster to the requirements in season if the following occur i.e injuries/retirements/players moving overseas

if two teams bid on the same free agent, team A for $20mil, team B for $15mil, then team A will get the free agent at $15 or $16 mil because the awarded price will be lowered to the 2nd highest bid
FOR OR AGAINST

Rule change proposals
1. Qualifying offer compensation is highest pick that isn’t a 1st round pick. Team losing the player will receive a Compensation Round A pick (at end of 1st round) if player signs for over $50 mil total. Team will receive a Compensation Round B (at end of 2nd round) pick if signed for under $50 mil total. (Based on real life model)
2. 5 round rookie draft, with teams allowed to opt out after the 3rd round if they choose.
3. Offseason Proboards bidding for free agents who scored over 400+ points. Blind bidding on Fantrax for all other free agents under 400 points after Proboards bidding is complete. This will separate the elite free agents from the pack and will allow teams a chance to have a “Plan B” if they don’t get their guy in Proboards bidding.
4. Draft pick trading with MLB players. This one seems obvious to make it official since we kind of already do this with two part trades.
5. Minor league salary does not carryover to MLB salary. I don’t think the current system is fair where if you sign a minor leaguer for say $1mill, then their rookie contract in MLB starts at $1mil. All rookies should start at the minimum of $0.5mil.
6. Increase the rookie draft salary: 1st round $1.0mil, 2nd $0.5mil, 3rd $0.3mil, 4th & 5th $0.2. This works better if Proposal 5 is passed.
7. Lower International Free Agency salary. To make it similar to the MLB model, the bottom 5 finishing teams get a $2mil cap, 6-10 get $1.5mil, and rest get $1mil. Trading is obviously still ok. This helps struggling teams but is a better form of compensation then extra draft picks.
8. 50% penalty for dropping minor leaguers midseason. I see way to much adding and dropping of minor leaguers midseason with no consequences (I’m guilty of this too). Therefore I propose that all minor leaguer players dropped midseason will incur a 50% penalty on that teams minor league salary. So if you drop a minor leaguer who is at $0.2 mil midseason, then you carry $0.1mil in minor league dead money for the rest of the season. This will not apply to offseason dropping. Unlimited offseason dropping with no consequences is ok.
9. Offseason voting needs 18 votes to pass (60%). Currently only 16 votes are needed to pass, I like 18 better because it requires a stronger majority in order to change a rule.
10. You can’t leave healthy players on the bench in favor of injured/minor league players for more than a week. I’m honestly not sure how we would police this, but I saw this a few times from tanking teams and I’m open to suggestions on how to combat this. This only applies to healthy players left on the bench, if a team doesn’t have any healthy players at a certain position, then obviously there is nothing that needs to be done.
11. One team option can be given per offseason signing. No team options for mid season pickups. I don’t like the idea of giving team options to every other free agent that gets signed. I think we should limit it to one per year.
12. Mid season free agents are limited to 2 year deals at max. This will combat players getting signed to 4years @ $0.5 mil contracts that frequently occur with midseason pickups.
13. Compensation picks to new owners if they inherit a bad team. Not sure what kind of compensation is fair and what defines a bad team, but like Proposal 10, I’m open to suggestions/trying to get the conversation started.
14. Multiple Qualifying Offers allowed. This is allowed in real life so it should be allowed here.
15. Saving the most radical change for last. 50 man rosters and a Rule 5 draft with minor league service time rule. The way it will work is every team will have a 50 man roster. In MLB it’s a 40 man roster, but to simplify it, let’s start with 50 (we can always adjust this down the road). All MLB players are automatically on it. Then, a player who has been in a minor league system for 4 years, 5 years for international free agents, the minor leaguer must be added to your 50 man roster, or will be available in the rule 5 draft.
Let’s start with explaining the 50 man roster. All MLB players are automatically included, and any MLB player signed or traded for will be added to it. If you were to remove a player from the 50 man roster, they will automatically be eligible for waivers. If another claims that player, then they must be added to the new teams 50 man roster. If nobody claims that player, then they stay on the original team, but must be sent down to the minors as all MLB players must be on the 50 man roster. All teams must have a minimum of 40 players on their 50 man roster during the season.
Now I’ll explain the Rule 5 draft. Every offseason players who have been in a minor league system for 4 years, 5 years for international free agents, the minor leaguer must be added to your 50 man roster, or will be available in the rule 5 draft. If a player exceeds these year limits and are not added to the 50 man roster, then they are eligible to be taken by another team. The draft will be the same order as the rookie draft. Teams are not required to participate in the rule 5 draft. If a player is selected in the rule 5 draft, then that player must not only remain on the 50 man roster for all year the next season, but must also be on the 25 (or 26 if we follow the MLB change) man MLB roster all season. If at any point the player gets demoted or removed from the roster, the player will be returned to its original team. After being on the roster for one full season, they can be demoted to the minors if the team so chooses. The rule 5 draft will have a 3 round max.
Definitely a radical rule change, but follows real life more closely.
