@chicubs has extended a qualifying offer to Jake Odorizzi for 17.8m.
Minimum bids:
1 year @ 18.3m = 18.3 points
2 years @ 9.15m = 18.3 points
3 years @ 6.1m = 18.3 points
4 years @ 4.58m = 18.32 points
If Odorizzi is won by another team, Cubs will receive a comp balance round A pick, and the winning team will lose their 2nd rd rookie pick
Auction closes 11/21 if no bids are received, Cubs keep Odorizzi for 17.8m for one year.

48 hours have elapsed and the bidding is over. The Chicago Cubs now have 48 hours to decide whether to keep Jake Odorizzi for 4 years @ $23 mil per year, or to let him go to the Chicago White Sox for 4 years @ $22 mil per year. If the Cubs decline to match, they will receive a compensation pick, while the White Sox will lose their 2nd round draft pick.

after much thought and the 45 million dollars I have to spend I will sadly have to let odorizzi walk the man had hid best season last year but that's an awful lot of money to spend for someone who may or may not have the same type of season. so good bye to your 2nd round pick and say hello to my comp pick
